D40-1199; 1944 House Shirtwaist

9-piece digitally-drafted pattern originally by Simplicity, all 'wrap-arounded' in red and green, how 'bout this sweet little shirtwaist dress (for any occasion really)!

'The dress, fitted with darts at front waistline and underarm, is seamed down the center back. A large patch pocket trims the front and the belt buttons in back. 

Style I has a very brief sleeve and is finished with self-ruffling. 

Style II is trimmed with rick-rack. The sleeves are short.'

I LOOOOVE the ruffle version!

3/4" seams are given at underarm (all side) seams and 1/2" seams are given on all other edges.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS For Styles 1 & 2: Novelty cotton, linen, gingham, pique, seersucker, novelty silk crepe, rayon, batiste.

Sizes:

Size set A fits 32" to 38" bust, 26" to 32" waist, 35" to 41" hip.

Size Set B fitting 40" to 46" bust, 34" to 40" waist, 43" to 49" hip.
